Except in the case of a medical emergency, no abortion shall\n\nbe performed or induced or be attempted to be performed or induced\n\nunless the physician performing or inducing it has first made a\n\ndetermination of the probable postfertilization age of the unborn\n\nchild or relied upon such a determination made by another physician.\n\nIn making such a determination, the physician shall make such\n\ninquiries of the woman and perform or cause to be performed such\n\nmedical examinations and tests as a reasonably prudent physician,\n\nknowledgeable about the case and the medical conditions involved,\n\nwould consider necessary to perform in making an accurate diagnosis\n\nwith respect to postfertilization age.\n\nB.
