Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-745.51","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. \"Abortion\" means the act of using, prescribing,\n\nadministering, procuring, or selling of any instrument, medicine,\n\ndrug, or any other substance, device, or means with the purpose to\n\nterminate the pregnancy of a woman, with knowledge that the\n\ntermination by any of those means will with reasonable likelihood\n\ncause the death of an unborn child. It does not include the use,\n\nprescription, administration, procuring, or selling of Plan B,\n\nmorning-after pills, or any other type of contraception or emergency\n\ncontraception. An act is not an abortion if the act is performed\n\nwith the purpose to:\n\na. save the life or preserve the health of the unborn\n\nchild,\n\nb. remove a dead unborn child caused by spontaneous\n\nabortion, or\n\nc. remove an ectopic pregnancy;\n\n2. \"Fertilization\" means the fusion of a human spermatozoon\n\nwith a human ovum;\n\n3. \"Medical emergency\" means a condition in which an abortion\n\nis necessary to preserve the life of a pregnant woman whose life is\n\nendangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical\n\ninjury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or\n\narising from the pregnancy itself;\n\n4. \"Unborn child\" means a human fetus or embryo in any stage of\n\ngestation from fertilization until birth; and\n\n5. \"Woman\" and \"women\" include any person whose biological sex\n\nis female, including any person with XX chromosomes and any person\n\nwith a uterus, regardless of any gender identity that the person\n\nattempts to assert or claim.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3e4894c7190654e88dd1261275914b19170c4edf5bd515aab2dc1598d06e3891","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-745.5","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-745.52"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
