Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1083.1","heading":"Rural electric cooperative housing authorities -","body":"Exemption from publication of notice, petition and election\n\nprocedure.\n\nThere is hereby created, with respect to each rural electric\n\ncooperative in the state, a public body corporate and politic, to\n\nfunction in the operating area of such rural electric cooperative to\n\nbe known as the \"housing authority\" of said cooperative which shall\n\nbe an agency of the State of Oklahoma possessing all powers, rights\n\nand functions provided by law for city and county housing\n\nauthorities. No rural electric cooperative housing authority shall\n\ntransact any business or exercise any powers unless the governing\n\nboard of said cooperative, by proper resolution, declares that there\n\nis a need for an authority to function for said cooperative.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in this act, all the provisions of\n\nlaw applicable to housing authorities created for cities and\n\ncounties and the commissioners of such authorities shall be\n\napplicable to rural electric cooperative housing authorities and the\n\ncommissioners thereof unless a different meaning clearly appears\n\nfrom the context. The chief executive officer of each rural\n\nelectric cooperative is authorized to exercise all appointing and\n\nother powers with respect to a rural electric cooperative housing\n\nauthority that are vested by law in the mayor of a city relating to\n\na city housing authority. The requirements of Section 1055 of Title\n\n63 of the Oklahoma Statutes as to publication of notice, petition\n\nand election and the provisions of Section 1056 of Title 63 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes shall not apply to rural electric cooperative\n\nhousing authorities.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3fbf4a478df4775c9ff34690844cb3cb88405839fd462b089f0ff28cf77fa2b1","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1083","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1084"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
