Stat. tit. 63, § 63-2-110","heading":"Attorneys","body":"The Director of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and\n\nDangerous Drugs Control may employ attorneys, who shall be\n\nunclassified employees of the state, or contract with attorneys, as\n\nneeded. These attorneys may advise the Director, the Oklahoma State\n\nBureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control Commission and\n\nBureau personnel on all legal matters and shall appear for and\n\nrepresent the Director, the Commission and Bureau personnel in all\n\nadministrative hearings and all litigation or other proceedings\n\nwhich may arise in the discharge of their duties. At the request of\n\nthe Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control\n\nCommission, such attorney shall assist the district attorney or the\n\nAttorney General in prosecuting charges of violators of the Uniform\n\nControlled Dangerous Substances Act or any felony relating to or\n\narising from a violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous\n\nSubstances Act. Attorneys for the Bureau who have been certified by\n\nthe Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training to carry a\n\nweapon or have been issued a handgun license pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act shall be allowed to\n\ncarry weapons pursuant to paragraph 3 of subsection A of Section\n\n1272 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes. These attorneys,\n\npursuant to this provision, shall not be considered eligible to\n\nparticipate in the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System.
