A statewide investigational new drug application may be\n\nestablished in this state, if approved by the United States Food and\n\nDrug Administration, to conduct clinical trials using cannabidiol on\n\nqualifying patients with severe forms of epilepsy.\n\nB. Any physician licensed by the State Board of Medical\n\nLicensure and Supervision or the State Board of Osteopathic\n\nExaminers, practicing in this state, and treating patients with\n\nsevere forms of epilepsy may serve as the principal investigator for\n\nsuch clinical trials if such physician:\n\n1. Applies to and is approved by the United States Food and\n\nDrug Administration as the principal investigator in a statewide\n\ninvestigational new drug application;\n\n2. Receives a license from the United States Drug Enforcement\n\nAdministration; and\n\n3. Receives a registration from the Oklahoma State Bureau of\n\nNarcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control.\n\nC. Such physician, acting as principal investigator, may\n\ninclude subinvestigators who are also board certified, practice in\n\nan academic medical center in this state, and treat patients with\n\nsevere forms of epilepsy. Such subinvestigators shall be required\n\nto comply with the licensing requirement provided in paragraphs 2\n\nand 3 of subsection B of this section.\n\nD. The principal investigator and all subinvestigators shall\n\nadhere to the rules and regulations established by the relevant\n\ninstitutional review board for each participating academic medical\n\ncenter and by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the\n\nUnited States Drug Enforcement Administration, the Oklahoma State\n\nBureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, and the National\n\nInstitute on Drug Abuse.\n\nE. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit a\n\nphysician licensed in Oklahoma from applying for Investigational New\n\nDrug authorization from the United States Food and Drug\n\nAdministration.\n\nF.
