This section shall be known and may be cited as the\n\n\"Oklahoma Certified Healthy Schools Act\".\n\nB. The State Department of Health shall establish and maintain\n\na program for the voluntary certification of schools that promotes\n\nwellness, encourages the adoption of healthy behaviors, and\n\nestablishes safe and supportive environments.\n\nC. The program shall recognize three levels of certification as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. Basic certification;\n\n2. Merit certification; and\n\n3. Excellence certification.\n\nD. The Department shall develop criteria for certification,\n\nwhich, at a minimum, may include the following for each level of\n\ncertification:\n\n1. Basic certification: The school shall meet at least two\n\ncriteria in each of the components of the Center for Disease Control\n\nand Prevention's Coordinated School Health Program model;\n\n2. Merit certification: The school shall meet at least three\n\ncriteria in each of the components of the Center for Disease Control\n\nand Prevention's Coordinated School Health Program model; and\n\n3. Excellence certification: The school shall meet at least\n\nfour criteria in each of the components of the Center for Disease\n\nControl and Prevention's Coordinated School Health Program model.\n\nE. Subject to available funding specifically appropriated for\n\nthis purpose, the Department may provide a monetary reward to\n\nschools that earn certification as follows:\n\n1. Basic certification: Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars\n\n($2,500.00);\n\n2. Merit certification: Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00); and\n\n3. Excellence certification: Ten Thousand Dollars\n\n($10,000.00).\n\nF. Schools that obtain a reward pursuant to subsection E of\n\nthis section shall use the funds for the enhancement of wellness\n\nactivities and the promotion of healthy environments. Such\n\nactivities may include, but are not limited to:\n\n1. Improving playgrounds;\n\n2. Purchasing sports equipment; and\n\n3. Equipping school kitchens for healthy cooking.\n\nG. The Department shall develop an online application form for\n\nschools seeking to become an Oklahoma Certified Healthy School.\n\nH.
