The following persons shall make a reasonable search of an\n\nindividual who the person reasonably believes is dead or near death\n\nfor a document of gift or other information identifying the\n\nindividual as a donor or as an individual who made a refusal:\n\n1. A law enforcement officer, firefighter, paramedic, or other\n\nemergency rescuer finding the individual; and\n\n2. If no other source of the information is immediately\n\navailable, a hospital, as soon as practical after the individual’s\n\narrival at the hospital.\n\nB. If a document of gift or a refusal to make an anatomical\n\ngift is located by the search required by paragraph 1 of subsection\n\nA of this section and the individual or deceased individual to whom\n\nit relates is taken to a hospital, the person responsible for\n\nconducting the search shall send the document of gift or refusal to\n\nthe hospital.\n\nC.
