Stat. tit. 63, § 63-2855.1","heading":"Direct access to 9-1-1 service required","body":"DIRECT ACCESS TO 9-1-1 SERVICE REQUIRED\n\nA. A business owner or operator that owns or controls a\n\ntelephone system or equivalent system which utilizes Voice over\n\nInternet Protocol (VoIP) enabled service and provides outbound\n\ndialing capacity or access shall be required to configure the\n\ntelephone or equivalent system to allow a person initiating a 9-1-1\n\ncall on the system to directly access 9-1-1 without an additional\n\ncode, digit, prefix, postfix, or trunk-access code.\n\nB. A business owner or operator that provides residential or\n\nbusiness facilities utilizing a telephone system or equivalent\n\nsystem as described in subsection A, shall configure the telephone\n\nor equivalent system to provide a notification to a central location\n\non the site of the residential or business facility when a person\n\nwithin the residential or business facility dials 9-1-1, provided\n\nthe business owner or operator's system is able to be configured to\n\nprovide such notification without an improvement to the system's\n\nhardware. The requirement of this subsection does not require a\n\nbusiness owner or operator to have a person available at the central\n\nlocation to receive such notification.\n\nC. Telephone service providers and Interconnected VoIP Service\n\nproviders shall, within sixty (60) days following the enactment of\n\nthis act, and at least once annually thereafter, provide written\n\nnotification detailing the provisions of this act to any current\n\ncommercial customers operating in this state who may be affected by\n\nthis act. Such providers shall inform any new commercial customers\n\nof the requirements of this act at the time service is initiated.\n\nD.
