The Oklahoma 9-1-1 Management Authority shall maintain an\n\nonline training platform for 9-1-1 emergency telecommunicators in\n\nthis state.\n\nB. The Oklahoma 9-1-1 Management Authority shall create,\n\nmaintain, and certify a list of qualified online and in-person\n\ntraining programs that include the basic requirements for a 9-1-1\n\nemergency telecommunicator as well as coordinate and collaborate\n\nwith local and regional 9-1-1 training authorities. Classes shall\n\nbe a minimum of forty (40) hours in length and include instruction\n\nfor basic call handling and dispatch services. The Oklahoma 9-1-1\n\nManagement Authority shall establish hourly training requirements on\n\na yearly basis.\n\nC. On or before July 1, 2024, emergency telecommunicators in\n\nthis state that provide dispatch service for emergency medical\n\nservices shall complete, either in-person or virtually, a forty-hour\n\nstate-recognized training course for basic call handling and\n\ndispatch services.\n\nD. Any new emergency telecommunicator hired after January 1,\n\n2024, shall complete, either in-person or virtually, a forty-hour\n\nstate-recognized training course for basic call handling and\n\ndispatch services within six (6) months of his or her hire date.\n\nE. On or before July 1, 2024, emergency telecommunicators in\n\nthis state that provide dispatch service for emergency medical\n\nservices shall complete, either in-person or virtually, a state- or\n\nnationally recognized telecommunicator CPR training course.\n\nTelecommunicator CPR training shall follow evidence-based,\n\nnationally recognized guidelines for High-Quality Telecommunicator\n\nCPR which incorporates recognition protocols for out-of-hospital\n\ncardiac events.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"77ee8f3e9ab08d5f4b9a19bb67e46e76bf1c2ef7cf03174e579577b65586f4b5","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-2871","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-2901"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
