Stat. tit. 63, § 63-3080.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Hydration and Nutrition for Incompetent Patients\n\nAct:\n\n1. \"Attending physician\" means the physician who has primary\n\nresponsibility for the overall medical treatment and care of a\n\npatient;\n\n2. \"Final stage\" means the last stage of a terminal illness or\n\ninjury in which, even with the use of medical treatment, the person\n\nwith the terminal illness or injury is in the dying process and will\n\ndie within a reasonably short period of time;\n\n3. \"Health care provider\" means a person who is licensed,\n\ncertified, or otherwise authorized by the law of this state to\n\nadminister health care in the ordinary course of business or\n\npractice of a profession;\n\n4. \"Incompetent patient\" means any person who:\n\na. is a minor, or\n\nb. has been declared legally incompetent to make\n\ndecisions affecting medical treatment or care, or\n\nc. in the reasonable judgment of the attending\n\nphysician, is unable to make decisions affecting medical treatment\n\nor other health care services;\n\n5. \"Nutrition\" means sustenance administered by way of the\n\ngastrointestinal tract;\n\n6. \"Physician\" means a physician or surgeon licensed by the\n\nState Board of Medical Examiners or State Board of Osteopathy; and\n\n7. \"Terminal illness or injury\" means an incurable and\n\nirreversible medical condition that, even with the use of medical\n\ntreatment, will result in the death of a person from that condition\n\nor a complication arising from that condition.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2c76e3501c103732273974eec7ded296ff0c320c80d2ab0528cb096ac31b4b43","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3080.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3080.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
