A patient may make decisions regarding life-sustaining\n\ntreatment as long as the patient is able to do so.\n\nB. Even if life-sustaining treatment or artificial\n\nadministration of nutrition and hydration are withheld or withdrawn,\n\nthe patient shall be provided with medication or other medical\n\ntreatment to alleviate pain and will be provided with oral\n\nconsumption of food and water.\n\nC. If a qualified patient has been diagnosed as pregnant and\n\nthat diagnosis is known to the attending physician, the pregnant\n\npatient shall be provided with life-sustaining treatment and\n\nartificially administered hydration and nutrition, unless the\n\npatient has specifically authorized, in her own words, that during a\n\ncourse of pregnancy, life-sustaining treatment and/or artificially\n\nadministered hydration and/or nutrition shall be withheld or\n\nwithdrawn.
