Stat. tit. 63, § 63-3112","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purposes of Sections 2 through 6 of this act:\n\n1. \"Aftercare\" means any assistance provided by a designated\n\nlay caregiver to an individual under this act after the patient's\n\ndischarge from a hospital. Such assistance may include tasks that\n\nare limited to the patient's condition at the time of discharge that\n\ndo not require a licensed professional;\n\n2. \"Discharge\" means a patient's exit or release from a\n\nhospital to the patient's residence following any inpatient stay;\n\n3. \"Hospital\" means a facility licensed pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of Section 1-701 et seq. of Title 63 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes;\n\n4. \"Lay caregiver\" means any individual eighteen (18) years of\n\nage or older, including next of kin, duly designated as a lay\n\ncaregiver pursuant to the provisions of this act who provides\n\naftercare assistance to a patient in the patient's residence; and\n\n5. \"Residence\" means a dwelling considered by a patient to be\n\nhis or her home, not including any hospital as defined by Section 1-\n\n701 et seq. of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, nursing home or\n\ngroup home as defined by the Long-Term Care Reform and\n\nAccountability Act of 2001, or assisted living facility as defined\n\nby the Continuum of Care and Assisted Living Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"582561897d2d1b0bf824a9f542b382264686607ad7fb62a44aeb94a89399d4fd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3111.9","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3113"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
