Stat. tit. 63, § 63-3161","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Medical Treatment Laws Information Act:\n\n1. \"Associated with the inpatient health care services entity\"\n\nmeans, with regard to a particular inpatient health care services\n\nentity, that the health care provider is an employee or agent of the\n\nentity, that the health care provider has privileges to provide\n\nhealth care services to patients in the entity, or that the health\n\ncare provider in fact provides health care services to patients in\n\nthe entity. For purposes of this definition, provision of health\n\ncare services to patients in the entity shall be deemed to include\n\nprovision of health care services to patients in an emergency room\n\noperated by the entity, regardless of whether those patients are\n\nadmitted as inpatients;\n\n2. \"Health care provider\" means a person who is licensed,\n\ncertified, or otherwise authorized by the laws of this state as a\n\nphysician, physician assistant, certified nurse practitioner,\n\nadvanced practice registered nurse (including one with a certified\n\nspecialty), registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse, but does\n\nnot include a nurse midwife;\n\n3. \"Health care services\" means any services provided by a\n\nhealth care provider, or by an individual working for or under the\n\nsupervision of a health care provider, that relate to the diagnosis,\n\nassessment, prevention, treatment or care of any human illness,\n\ndisease, injury or condition;\n\n4. \"Inpatient health care services entities\" means those\n\nhospitals defined in paragraphs 2, 3 and 5 of Section 1-701 of Title\n\n63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, a nursing facility as defined in\n\nparagraph 10 of Section 1-1902 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\na specialized facility as defined in paragraph 11 of Section 1-1902\n\nof Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, and those long-term care\n\nfacilities described in subparagraphs e and f of paragraph 1 of\n\nSection 1-1945 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n5. \"Other defined officials\" means, with regard to a particular\n\nhealth care services entity, to the extent such officials exist, the\n\nmembers of the board of directors, the administrator or chief\n\nexecutive officer, and the general counsel, by whatever titles those\n\nserving these functions may be called.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"54daa39338d5bc3318ba9e78f7ed19c12c2d945933d0d868054c592c5eff4cd5","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3160","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-3162"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
