Notwithstanding any other law, any expansion, addition, or\n\nchange to the University Hospitals in furtherance of the University\n\nHospitals Authority Act shall not require a certificate of need.\n\nB. 1. University Hospitals shall be operated as general\n\nhospitals and shall be licensed by the State Commissioner of Health,\n\nand shall, as far as possible, meet the standards, requirements and\n\nessentials of the Joint Commission, the American Medical\n\nAssociation’s Council on Medical Education, the American Specialty\n\nBoards and the Association of American Medical Colleges.\n\n2. The University Hospitals shall operate a public Level I\n\nTrauma Center and shall meet the standards and requirements of the\n\nAmerican College of Surgeons to attain such designation. The\n\nUniversity Hospitals Authority shall annually certify to the\n\nOklahoma Health Care Authority that the University Hospitals meet\n\nsuch standards and requirements with respect to any Medicaid\n\nsupplemental payments to be received from the Oklahoma Health Care\n\nAuthority for the public Level I Trauma Center.\n\n3. The University Hospitals may provide services and receive\n\npayments therefor under Titles XVIII and XIX of the federal Social\n\nSecurity Act, and may participate in other federal medical programs.\n\n4.
