Stat. tit. 63, § 63-4007","heading":"Confidentiality of title and registration information -","body":"Penalties - Copies of certificate of title or registration.\n\nA. Except as otherwise provided by this section, all\n\ninformation contained in the certificate of title or the\n\nregistration of any vessel or motor shall be confidential and\n\nprivileged, subject only to disclosure to the following:\n\n1. Any duly authorized peace officer of this state in the\n\nregular course of the peace officer's duties;\n\n2. Any official person or body of any other state or of the\n\nUnited States, when required in their governmental functions;\n\n3. Any person or firm, when Service Oklahoma is satisfied the\n\nrequest for information is reasonable and is related primarily to\n\nboating safety;\n\n4. Any filer of a mechanics, storage or abandoned vessel\n\npossessory lien under the applicable provisions of Sections 91\n\nthrough 200 of Title 42, Section 908 of Title 47 or Section 4217.4\n\nof Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, when such information is\n\nrequired to fulfill the notification requirements contained therein;\n\n5. Any vessel or motor manufacturer or an authorized\n\nrepresentative thereof in connection with matters of vessel or motor\n\nsafety and theft, vessel motor emissions, vessel or motor product\n\nalterations, recalls or advisories, performance monitoring of vessel\n\nor motor parts and dealers, vessel or motor market research\n\nactivities, including survey research, and removal of non-owner\n\nrecords from the original owner records of vessel or motor\n\nmanufacturers. The confidentiality of the information shall be\n\nprotected, as set out above, and used only for the purpose stated;\n\nprovided, further, that Service Oklahoma shall be authorized to\n\nreview the use of and the measures employed to safeguard the\n\ninformation; and provided, further, that the manufacturer or\n\nrepresentative shall bear the cost incurred by Service Oklahoma in\n\nthe production of the information requested. If the confidentiality\n\nprovisions, pursuant to this section, are violated, the provisions\n\nof subsection D of Section 205 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes\n\nshall apply and the privilege of obtaining information shall be\n\nterminated. Any manufacturer or representative violating the\n\nprovisions of this section, upon conviction, shall be punishable by\n\na fine not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00); and\n\n6. Any person compiling and publishing vessel or motor\n\nstatistics, provided that such statistics do not disclose the names\n\nor addresses of individuals. Such information shall be provided\n\nupon payment of a fee as determined by Service Oklahoma.\n\nB. Service Oklahoma or a licensed operator may furnish the\n\nholder of a security interest in a specific vessel or motor upon\n\npayment of the fee specified by Section 4014 of this title, a copy\n\nor certified copy of the certificate of title or registration\n\ninformation for such vessel.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"95b550934ff4a74023ba724aa413ce0404ad108ecaa459ee98f69385fe892c48","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4006","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4008"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
