Stat. tit. 63, § 63-4020","heading":"Notice of registration requirements","body":"Service Oklahoma shall notify through the mail, or via\n\nelectronic mail, all persons who have not opted out of the\n\nnotification system within the state who have previous vessel or\n\nmotor registrations on record of the period for registration that\n\nare due to be registered in July of that year. Persons choosing to\n\nreceive such annual notification through the mail shall be assessed\n\nan annual fee of fifty cents ($0.50), notwithstanding the provisions\n\nof Section 1114.1 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which shall\n\nbe used by Service Oklahoma for printing and mailing of renewal\n\nnotifications. Members of the Armed Forces of the United States,\n\nthe Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of the United States, and the\n\nOklahoma National Guard and their spouses eligible for the military\n\nregistration fee, as provided in Section 4021 of this title, shall\n\nreceive a renewal notification without payment of such fee. The\n\nprinted notice shall contain all necessary information for such\n\nregistration including a breakdown of all charges to be paid by the\n\nowner. The breakdown of the charges to be paid by the owner shall\n\ninclude the charges an owner would pay to register the vessel or\n\nmotor for a one-year period and the charges an owner would pay to\n\nregister the vessel or motor for a three-year period. Use of a\n\npostcard or electronic mail-type renewal notice is specifically\n\npermitted. The content and form of the notice shall also contain\n\ninstructions as to the procedure for renewal upon presentation to a\n\nlicensed operator or by return mail to Service Oklahoma's state\n\noffice. Service Oklahoma shall provide information on its public\n\nwebsite instructing persons on the procedure for obtaining an annual\n\nnotification via electronic mail, free of charge, outlining all\n\ncharges and fees associated with the registration of vessels and\n\nmotors, as well as an explanation of the apportionment of vessel and\n\nmotor registration fees and penalties. The cost of mailing shall be\n\nOne Dollar ($1.00) for titles or other forms or devices required by\n\nthe Oklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration Act. Provided, that\n\nService Oklahoma may adjust any mailing costs as deemed appropriate\n\nto allow for increased or additional fees charged by the United\n\nStates Postal Service.\n\nFailure by any applicant to receive notification of renewal as\n\nprovided by this section shall not excuse the applicant from\n\nproperly obtaining any registration at the proper time by presenting\n\nproof of ownership to Service Oklahoma's state office or to a\n\nlicensed operator.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8bd1f5a572e7a67b1c1626681fec717bffb87273e0123f3568f2aaf8f9b70b33","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4019","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4021"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
