Stat. tit. 63, § 63-4027","heading":"Lien of title and registration fees and penalties -","body":"Priority - Seizure - Costs of taking into custody and storage -\n\nForeclosure.\n\nAll title and registration fees and penalties levied by the\n\nterms and provisions of the Oklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration\n\nAct shall become and remain a first lien upon any vessel or motor on\n\nwhich such fees, taxes and penalty are due and unpaid. The lien\n\nshall be prior, superior and paramount to all other liens of\n\nwhatsoever kind or character.\n\nAfter the thirtieth day after such title and registration fees\n\nbecome delinquent, it shall be the duty of Service Oklahoma or the\n\nDepartment of Public Safety, its designated officers or employees,\n\nand of sheriffs and all other duly authorized peace officers of this\n\nstate, to seize and take into custody every vessel or motor required\n\nto be titled and registered pursuant to the Oklahoma Vessel and\n\nMotor Registration Act but which is not so registered by the owner\n\nthereof, and such vessel or motor shall not be released to the owner\n\nthereof until it is duly registered and the fee due thereon paid in\n\nfull, together with any penalty provided by law, plus the cost of\n\nseizure, including a reasonable cost of taking such vessel or motor\n\ninto custody and storing it. In the event the owner or possessor of\n\nany such vessel or motor seized, as provided by law, shall fail to\n\npay the registration fee and penalty due thereon, together with such\n\ncosts of seizure and storage, the officer shall proceed to foreclose\n\nthe lien thereon by selling such vessel or motor following the\n\nprocedure for foreclosure of liens on personal property prescribed\n\nin Section 91 of Title 42 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nThe provisions of the Uniform Tax Procedure Code under Title 68\n\nof the Oklahoma Statutes and the Oklahoma Vehicle License and\n\nRegistration Act, Section 1101 et seq. of Title 47 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, providing procedures and remedies with respect to all\n\nstate taxes shall also be available for the enforcement of the\n\nprovisions of the Oklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"cf3cc6bb09eb9b9f354e33e0c3bad26c42e0ce7605b29648358786494da35215","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4026","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4028"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
