Upon issuance of a license to sell new vessels or new\n\nmotors, there shall be assigned and issued to such dealer three\n\ndemonstration permits for vessels, three demonstration permits for\n\nmotors, or three demonstration permits for each such class the\n\ndealer has been authorized to sell. Such permits shall be displayed\n\nupon each vessel or motor owned by the dealer when the vessel or\n\nmotor is driven or displayed on any water of this state. No such\n\ndemonstration permit issued to any dealer shall be used or displayed\n\nupon any secondhand or used vessel or motor, or upon any new vessel\n\nor motor which is for private use, or for hire. Any dealer or agent\n\nthereof for purposes of demonstrating a vessel or motor for a sale,\n\nor any other person, with consent of the dealer, while contemplating\n\npurchase, may operate a new vessel or motor with the dealer's\n\ndemonstration permit affixed so long as this intent is limited to a\n\nconsecutive seventy-two-hour period, or a weekend. For the purposes\n\nof this subsection, \"driven or displayed on any water of this state\"\n\ndoes not include the use of a vessel or motor for participation in a\n\ncontest.\n\nB.
