A designated successor of a deceased or incapacitated new\n\nvessel dealer may succeed the dealer in the ownership or operation\n\nof the dealership under the existing dealer agreement, if the\n\ndesignated successor gives the manufacturer or distributor written\n\nnotice of his intention to succeed to the dealership within sixty\n\n(60) days after the dealer's death or incapacity and agrees to be\n\nbound by all of the terms and conditions of the dealer agreement. A\n\nmanufacturer or distributor may refuse to honor the existing dealer\n\nagreement with the designated successor for good cause or criteria\n\nagreed to in the existing dealer agreement, and may require the\n\ndesignated successor to supply personal and financial data necessary\n\nto determine whether the existing dealer agreement should be\n\nhonored.\n\nB. Within sixty (60) days after receiving the notice of the\n\ndesignated successor's intent to succeed the dealer in the ownership\n\nand operation of the dealership or within sixty (60) days after\n\nreceiving the requested personal and financial data, whichever last\n\noccurs, if a manufacturer or distributor believes that good cause or\n\nother criteria exists for refusing to honor the succession, the\n\nmanufacturer or distributor may serve upon the designated successor\n\nnotice of its refusal to approve the succession.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d712b5de0ff389d1a6095cf1de1cab967e53afbf10eb6298736729c2562323d7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4037.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-4039"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
