As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Identification number\" includes any identifying number,\n\nserial number, motor serial number or other distinguishing number or\n\nmark, placed on a vessel or motor by its manufacturer or by\n\nauthority of the Oklahoma Tax Commission or in accordance with the\n\nlaws of another state or country;\n\n2. \"Remove\" includes deface, cover and destroy; and\n\n3. \"Falsify\" includes alter and forge.\n\nB. Any person or persons who shall remove or falsify or cause\n\nto be removed or falsified the hull identification number of a\n\nvessel or motor in this state, without first giving notice of such\n\nact to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, upon such form as the Commission\n\nmay prescribe, or any person who shall give a wrong description in\n\nany application for the registration of any vessel or motor in this\n\nstate for the purpose of concealing or hiding the identity of such\n\nvessel or motor, upon conviction, shall be guilty of a Class D1\n\nfelony offense and shall be punished by imprisonment as provided for\n\nin subsections B through F of Section 20N of Title 21 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes.\n\nC. A person who buys, receives, possesses, sells or disposes of\n\na vessel or motor, knowing that the identification number of the\n\nvessel or motor has been removed or falsified, upon conviction,\n\nshall be guilty of a misdemeanor.\n\nD. A person who buys, receives, possesses, sells or disposes of\n\na vessel or motor, knowing that the identification number of the\n\nvessel or motor has been removed or falsified and with intent to\n\nconceal or misrepresent the identity of the vessel or motor, upon\n\nconviction, shall be guilty of a Class D1 felony offense and shall\n\nbe punished by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars\n\n($1,000.00), or by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B\n\nthrough F of Section 20N of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes, or by\n\nboth such fine and imprisonment.\n\nE. An identification number may be placed on a vessel or motor\n\nby its manufacturer in the regular course of business or placed or\n\nrestored on a vehicle or engine by authority of the Commission\n\nwithout violating this section.
