Stat. tit. 63, § 63-4233","heading":"Exceptions to certification requirement","body":"Except as otherwise provided, a person is not required to comply\n\nwith the certification required by Section 2 of this act if the\n\nperson:\n\n1. Is not a resident of this state and has proof the person has\n\nsuccessfully completed a boating safety education course or\n\nequivalency examination in another state or foreign country that is\n\napproved by the Department of Public Safety;\n\n2. Is participating in a sanctioned event as defined in Section\n\n4201 et seq. of this title; or\n\n3.
