As used in this section, “contracted entity” has the same\n\nmeaning as provided by Section 4002.2 of Title 56 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes.\n\nB. In establishing and maintaining the formulary for the state\n\nMedicaid program, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall ensure\n\nthat no nonopioid drug approved by the United States Food and Drug\n\nAdministration (FDA) for the treatment or management of pain shall\n\nbe disadvantaged or discouraged by either the Authority or a\n\ncontracted entity with respect to coverage on the formulary relative\n\nto any opioid or narcotic drug for the treatment or management of\n\npain.\n\nC. When a contracted provider prescribes an FDA-approved\n\nnonopioid drug for the treatment or management of pain, the\n\nAuthority or a contracted entity shall not deny coverage of the\n\nnonopioid drug in favor of an opioid drug.\n\nD.
