Stat. tit. 63, § 63-6302","heading":"Investigations – Identification of exposed individuals –","body":"Closing, evacuation, or decontamination of facilities –\n\nDecontamination or destruction of materials – Enforcement powers.\n\nA. The public health authority shall ascertain the existence of\n\ncases of an illness or health condition that may be potential causes\n\nof a catastrophic health emergency; investigate all such cases for\n\nsources of infection or contamination and to ensure that they are\n\nsubject to proper control measures; and define the distribution of\n\nthe illness or health condition. To fulfill these duties, the\n\npublic health authority shall identify exposed individuals as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. Acting on information developed in accordance with Section 6\n\nof this act, or other reliable information, the public health\n\nauthority shall identify all individuals thought to have been\n\nexposed to an illness or health condition that may be a potential\n\ncause of a catastrophic health emergency; and\n\n2. The public health authority shall counsel and interview such\n\nindividuals where needed to assist in the positive identification of\n\nexposed individuals and develop information relating to the source\n\nand spread of the illness or health condition. Such information\n\nincludes the name and address, including city and county, of any\n\nperson from whom the illness or health condition may have been\n\ncontracted and to whom the illness or health condition may have\n\nspread.\n\nB. The public health authority, for examination purposes, shall\n\nclose, evacuate, or decontaminate any facility or decontaminate or\n\ndestroy any material when the authority reasonably suspects that\n\nsuch facility or material may endanger the public health.\n\nC. The public health authority may enforce the provisions of\n\nthis section in accordance with existing enforcement rules.
