Stat. tit. 63, § 63-6503","heading":"Pharmaceutical agents and medical supplies – Purchase and","body":"distribution by public health authority - Regulation of use, sale,\n\ndispensing, distribution or transportation – Hoarding.\n\nA. The public health authority may purchase and distribute\n\nantitoxins, serums, vaccines, immunizing agents, antibiotics, and\n\nother pharmaceutical agents or medical supplies that it deems\n\nadvisable in the interest of preparing for or controlling a\n\ncatastrophic health emergency, without any additional legislative\n\nauthorization.\n\nB. If a catastrophic health emergency results in a statewide or\n\nregional shortage or threatened shortage of any product under\n\nsubsection A of this section, whether or not such product has been\n\npurchased by the public health authority, the public health\n\nauthority may control, restrict, and regulate by rationing and using\n\nquotas, prohibitions on shipments, allocation, or other means, the\n\nuse, sale, dispensing, distribution, or transportation of the\n\nrelevant product necessary to protect the public health, safety, and\n\nwelfare of the people of the state during the catastrophic health\n\nemergency.\n\nC. In making rationing or other supply and distribution\n\ndecisions, the public health authority may give preference to health\n\ncare providers, disaster response personnel, and mortuary staff.\n\nD. During a state of catastrophic health emergency, the public\n\nhealth authority may procure, store, or distribute any antitoxins,\n\nserums, vaccines, immunizing agents, antibiotics, and other\n\npharmaceutical agents or medical supplies located within the state\n\nas may be reasonable and necessary to respond to the catastrophic\n\nhealth emergency, with the right to take immediate possession\n\nthereof. If a catastrophic health emergency simultaneously affects\n\nmore than one state, nothing in this section shall be construed to\n\nallow the public health authority to obtain antitoxins, serums,\n\nvaccines, immunizing agents, antibiotics, and other pharmaceutical\n\nagents or medical supplies for the primary purpose of hoarding such\n\nitems or preventing fair and equitable distribution among affected\n\nstates.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a2ecdc409d4e9f95cb0037e4edc16d614bb45d21da1623fd4b926e8a9c2229b9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-6502","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-6504"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
