Stat. tit. 63, § 63-683.13","heading":"Emergency management activities declared as","body":"governmental functions - Workers' benefit rights preserved.\n\nA. All functions hereunder and all other activities relating to\n\nemergency management are hereby declared to be governmental\n\nfunctions. The provisions of this section shall not affect the\n\nright of any person to receive benefits to which the person would\n\notherwise be entitled under this act, or under the workers'\n\ncompensation law, or under any pension law, nor the right of any\n\nsuch person to receive any benefits or compensation under any Act of\n\nCongress. Any municipal fireman or policeman engaged in any\n\nemergency management activities, while complying with or attempting\n\nto comply with this act or any rule or regulation pursuant thereto,\n\nshall be considered as serving in his or her regular line of duty\n\nand shall be entitled to all benefits of any applicable pension\n\nfund.\n\nB. Any requirement for a license to practice any professional,\n\nmechanical, or other skill shall not apply to any authorized\n\nemergency management worker from any state rendering mutual aid and\n\nwho holds a comparable license in that state, who shall practice\n\nsuch professional, mechanical, or other skill during an emergency\n\ndeclared under the provisions of this act, when such professional,\n\nmechanical or other skill is exercised in accordance with the\n\nprovisions of this act.\n\nC. As used in this section, the term \"emergency management\n\nworker\" shall include any full or part-time paid, volunteer, or\n\nauxiliary employee of this state, or other states, territories,\n\npossession or the District of Columbia, of the federal government,\n\nor any neighboring country, or of any political subdivision thereof,\n\nor of any agency or organization, performing emergency management\n\nservices under state supervision, and who has been properly trained\n\nin the performance of emergency management functions, at any place\n\nin this state subject to the order or control of, or pursuant to a\n\nrequest of, the state government or any political subdivision\n\nthereof. The term \"emergency management worker\" shall not include\n\nany volunteer health practitioner subject to the provisions of the\n\nUniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act.\n\nD. Any emergency management worker, as defined in this section,\n\nperforming emergency management services at any place in this state\n\npursuant to agreements, compacts, or arrangements for mutual aid and\n\nassistance, to which the state or a political subdivision thereof is\n\na party, shall possess the same powers, duties, immunities, and\n\nprivileges the person would ordinarily possess if performing the\n\nsame duties in the state, province, or political subdivision thereof\n\nin which normally employed or rendering services.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"69595964bd2ddec613fbb1f1f5bf5fe49581e42715a9629bf296c09163a167c4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-683.12","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-683.14"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
