To qualify as a volunteer health practitioner registration\n\nsystem, a system must:\n\n1. Accept applications for the registration of volunteer health\n\npractitioners before or during an emergency;\n\n2. Include information about the licensure and good standing of\n\nhealth practitioners which is accessible by authorized persons;\n\n3. Be capable of confirming the accuracy of information\n\nconcerning whether a health practitioner is licensed and in good\n\nstanding before health services or veterinary services are provided\n\nunder the Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act; and\n\n4. Meet one of the following conditions:\n\na. be an emergency system for advance registration of\n\nvolunteer health practitioners established by a state\n\nand funded through the Health Resources Services\n\nAdministration under Section 319I of the Public Health\n\nServices Act, 42 U.S.C., Section 247d-7b,\n\nb. be a local unit consisting of trained and equipped\n\nemergency response, public health, and medical\n\npersonnel formed pursuant to Section 2801 of the\n\nPublic Health Services Act, 42 U.S.C., Section 300hh,\n\nc. be operated by a:\n\n(1) disaster relief organization,\n\n(2) licensing board,\n\n(3) national or regional association of licensing\n\nboards or health practitioners,\n\n(4) health facility that provides comprehensive\n\ninpatient and outpatient health-care services,\n\nincluding a tertiary care and teaching hospital,\n\nor\n\n(5) governmental entity, or\n\nd. be designated by the State Department of Health as a\n\nregistration system for purposes of the Uniform\n\nEmergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act.\n\nB. While an emergency declaration is in effect, the State\n\nDepartment of Health, a person authorized to act on behalf of the\n\nDepartment, or a host entity may confirm whether volunteer health\n\npractitioners utilized in this state are registered with a\n\nregistration system that complies with subsection A of this section.\n\nConfirmation is limited to obtaining identities of the practitioners\n\nfrom the system and determining whether the system indicates that\n\nthe practitioners are licensed and in good standing.\n\nC. Upon request of a person in this state authorized under\n\nsubsection B of this section, or a similarly authorized person in\n\nanother state, a registration system located in this state shall\n\nnotify the person of the identities of volunteer health\n\npractitioners and whether the practitioners are licensed and in good\n\nstanding.\n\nD.
