Stat. tit. 63, § 63-684.32","heading":"Provision of volunteer health or veterinary services –","body":"Administrative sanctions.\n\nA. Subject to subsections B and C of this section, a volunteer\n\nhealth practitioner shall adhere to the scope of practice for a\n\nsimilarly licensed practitioner established by the licensing\n\nprovisions, practice acts, or other laws of this state.\n\nB. Except as otherwise provided in subsection C of this\n\nsection, the Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act\n\ndoes not authorize a volunteer health practitioner to provide\n\nservices that are outside the scope of practice of the practitioner,\n\neven if a similarly licensed practitioner in this state would be\n\npermitted to provide the services.\n\nC. The State Department of Health may modify or restrict the\n\nhealth or veterinary services that volunteer health practitioners\n\nmay provide pursuant to the Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health\n\nPractitioners Act. An order under this subsection may take effect\n\nimmediately, without prior notice or comment, and is not a rule\n\nwithin the meaning of the Administrative Procedures Act.\n\nD. A host entity may restrict the health or veterinary services\n\nthat a volunteer health practitioner may provide pursuant to the\n\nUniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act.\n\nE. A volunteer health practitioner does not engage in\n\nunauthorized practice unless the practitioner has reason to know of\n\nany limitation, modification, or restriction under this section or\n\nthat a similarly licensed practitioner in this state would not be\n\npermitted to provide the services. A volunteer health practitioner\n\nhas reason to know of a limitation, modification, or restriction or\n\nthat a similarly licensed practitioner in this state would not be\n\npermitted to provide a service if:\n\n1. The practitioner knows the limitation, modification, or\n\nrestriction exists or that a similarly licensed practitioner in this\n\nstate would not be permitted to provide the service; or\n\n2. From all the facts and circumstances known to the\n\npractitioner at the relevant time, a reasonable person would\n\nconclude that the limitation, modification, or restriction exists or\n\nthat a similarly licensed practitioner in this state would not be\n\npermitted to provide the service.\n\nF. In addition to the authority granted by law of this state\n\nother than the Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act\n\nto regulate the conduct of health practitioners, a licensing board\n\nor other disciplinary authority in this state:\n\n1. May impose administrative sanctions upon a health\n\npractitioner licensed in this state for conduct outside of this\n\nstate in response to an out-of-state emergency;\n\n2. May impose administrative sanctions upon a practitioner not\n\nlicensed in this state for conduct in this state in response to an\n\nin-state emergency; and\n\n3. Shall report any administrative sanctions imposed upon a\n\npractitioner licensed in another state to the appropriate licensing\n\nboard or other disciplinary authority in any other state in which\n\nthe practitioner is known to be licensed.\n\nG. In determining whether to impose administrative sanctions\n\nunder subsection F of this section, a licensing board or other\n\ndisciplinary authority shall consider the circumstances in which the\n\nconduct took place, including any exigent circumstances, and the\n\nscope of practice, education, training, experience, and specialized\n\nskill of the practitioner.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b10486db300cede26a05d545f48f1be0443a585e050777d2473a4417f988a549","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-684.31","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-684.33"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
