Stat. tit. 63, § 63-685.2","heading":"Findings and declarations","body":"Because of the existing possibility of natural and man-made\n\nemergencies and disasters in the United States of unprecedented size\n\nand destructiveness, and in the event such an incident occurs: to\n\nassure continuity of government through legally-constituted\n\nleadership, authority and responsibility in offices of the\n\ngovernment of the state and its political subdivisions; to provide\n\nfor the effective operation of governments during an emergency\n\ncaused by an incident in the United States; and to facilitate the\n\nearly resumption of functions temporarily suspended, it is found and\n\ndeclared to be necessary: to provide for additional officers who\n\ncan exercise the powers and discharge the duties of Governor; to\n\nprovide for emergency interim succession to governmental offices of\n\nthis state and its political subdivisions in the event incumbents\n\nthereof (and their deputies, assistants or other subordinate\n\nofficers authorized, pursuant to law, to exercise all of the powers\n\nand discharge the duties of such offices hereinafter referred to as\n\ndeputies) are unavailable to perform the duties and functions of\n\nsuch offices; and to provide for special emergency judges who can\n\nexercise the powers and discharge the duties of judicial offices in\n\nthe event regular judges are unavailable, the provisions of this act\n\nare adopted to meet emergency conditions, which result from natural\n\nand man-made emergencies and disasters in the United States.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"47a0db168d335b4b80454e0e247a024ddd8a0b4b3a7495a91d7f5efcea204ab0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-685.11","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-685.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
