Stat. tit. 63, § 63-685.4","heading":"Emergency interim succession to office of Governor","body":"Whenever a natural or man-made disaster or emergency occurs in\n\nthe United States, and in the event that the Governor, for any of\n\nthe reasons specified in Article VI, Section 16 of the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution, is not able to exercise the powers and discharge the\n\nduties of the Governor’s office, or is unavailable, and in the event\n\nthe Lieutenant Governor, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and\n\nthe Speaker of the House of Representatives be for any of the\n\nreasons specified in the Constitution not able to exercise the\n\npowers and discharge the duties of the office of Governor, or be\n\nunavailable, the State Auditor and Inspector, Attorney General,\n\nState Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Commissioner\n\nof Labor, and members of the Corporation Commission in the order of\n\ntheir election districts, shall each in the order named, if no\n\nofficer higher in the enumerated order is available, exercise the\n\npowers and discharge the duties of the office of Governor until a\n\nnew Governor is elected and qualified; provided, however, that no\n\nemergency interim successor to the aforementioned offices may serve\n\nas Governor.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c5d6d61f16899b064a610e638aea0d7c33643ffe77ff425781824e43762facbd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-685.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-685.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
