Stat. tit. 63, § 63-685.5","heading":"Emergency interim succession to state offices other than","body":"Governor.\n\nAll state officers, other than the Governor, subject to such\n\nregulations as the Governor, or other official authorized under the\n\nConstitution and this act to exercise the powers and discharge the\n\nduties of the Office of Governor, may issue, upon approval of this\n\nact, in addition to any deputy, shall designate, by the title of\n\ntheir office or position, emergency interim successors and specify\n\ntheir order of succession. The officer shall review and revise, as\n\nnecessary, designations made pursuant to this act to ensure their\n\ncurrent status. The officer shall designate a sufficient number of\n\nsuch emergency interim successors so that there will be not less\n\nthan three nor more than seven deputies or emergency interim\n\nsuccessors or any combination thereof, at any time. In the event\n\nthat any state officer is unavailable following an emergency or\n\ndisaster, and in the event a deputy, if any, is also unavailable,\n\nthe said powers of the office shall be exercised and said duties of\n\nthe office shall be discharged by the designated emergency interim\n\nsuccessors in the order specified. The authority of an emergency\n\nsuccessor shall cease:\n\n1. When the incumbent of the office, or a deputy or an interim\n\nsuccessor higher in designation becomes available to exercise the\n\npowers and to perform the duties of the office; or\n\n2.
