Stat. tit. 63, § 63-686.3","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. ”Emergency” means any occasion or instance for which, in the\n\ndetermination of the President of the United States or the Governor\n\nof the State of Oklahoma, federal or state assistance is needed to\n\nsupplement state and local efforts and capabilities to save lives,\n\nprotect property, public health and safety, or to lessen or avert\n\nthreat of a catastrophe in any part of the state;\n\n2. “Man-made disaster” means a disaster caused by acts of man\n\nincluding, but not limited to, an act of war, terrorism, chemical\n\nspill or release, or a power shortage that requires assistance from\n\noutside the local political subdivision; and\n\n3. \"Unavailable\" means absent from the place of session, other\n\nthan on official business of the Legislature, or unable, for\n\nphysical, mental or legal reasons, to exercise the powers and\n\ndischarge the duties of a legislator, whether or not such absence or\n\ninability would give rise to a vacancy under existing constitutional\n\nor statutory provisions.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4c027c7a39cf820486d5a40d1cd2bf33f8c247359f183296e1f317ead362bb3d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-686.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-686.4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
