Stat. tit. 63, § 63-686.6","heading":"Maintaining minimum number of successors","body":"Prior to an emergency or disaster, if a legislator fails to\n\ndesignate the required minimum number of emergency interim\n\nsuccessors within sixty (60) days following the effective date of\n\nthis act or, after such period, if for any reason the number of\n\nemergency interim successors for any legislator falls below the\n\nrequired minimum and remains below such minimum for a period of\n\nsixty (60) days, then the floor leader of the same political party\n\nin the same house as such legislator shall, by and with the consent\n\nof the Speaker of the House of Representatives or President Pro\n\nTempore of the Senate, promptly designate as many emergency interim\n\nsuccessors as are required to achieve such minimum number, but the\n\nfloor leader shall not assign to any designees a rank in order of\n\nsuccession higher than that of any remaining emergency interim\n\nsuccessor previously designated by a legislator for succession to\n\nthe legislator’s own powers and duties.
