Stat. tit. 63, § 63-690.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"For purposes of the Oklahoma Flood Hazard Mitigation Program:\n\n1. \"Board\" means the Oklahoma Water Resources Board;\n\n2. \"Department\" means the Oklahoma Department of Emergency\n\nManagement;\n\n3. \"Dwelling unit\" means a place of residence and may be a\n\nsingle- or multiple-dwelling building;\n\n4. \"Flood\" or \"flooding\" means general and temporary conditions\n\nof partial or complete inundation of normally dry land areas from\n\nthe overflow of lakes, streams, rivers, or any other inland waters\n\nand from surface run-off;\n\n5. \"Flood hazard mitigation\" means any cost-effective measure\n\nwhich will reduce or eliminate the effects of a flood disaster;\n\n6. \"Flood hazard mitigation projects\" means those projects\n\ndesigned to correct, alleviate or eliminate a condition or situation\n\nwhich poses a repetitive threat to life, property, or public safety\n\nfrom the effects of a flood disaster;\n\n7. \"Flood disaster\" means any flood catastrophe, including but\n\nnot limited to high water, flood waters, or wind-driven water which\n\ncauses damage of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant flood\n\nhazard mitigation or the use of resources of the federal government,\n\nor the state and political subdivisions thereof to alleviate the\n\ndamage, loss, hardship, or suffering caused thereby;\n\n8. \"Political subdivision\" means any county, city, town, or\n\nmunicipal corporation of the State of Oklahoma;\n\n9. \"Real property\" includes all lands, including improvements\n\nand fixtures thereon, and property of any nature which is\n\nappurtenant thereto, or used in connection therewith, and every\n\nestate, interest and right, legal or equitable, therein including\n\nterms for years; and\n\n10. \"State Hazard Mitigation Team\" means the entity created\n\npursuant to Section 683.6 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"573d1fb10f6fa8ad5ca2e84d1163f4cdbfeee5146b4551d81222301f131808c5","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-690.10","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-690.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
