Stat. tit. 63, § 63-701","heading":"Shooting galleries - Standards and specifications","body":"(A) Open air shooting galleries constructed from and after the\n\neffective date of this act shall conform to the following standards\n\nand specifications:\n\n(a) There shall be a backstop not less than seven and one-half\n\n(7 1/2) feet high, which shall be constructed of steel of a\n\nthickness not less than U.S. standard eight-gauge steel and shall be\n\nwell lapped at the joints; the backstop shall be not less than eight\n\n(8) nor more than twenty-five (25) feet wide.\n\n(b) Attached to each side of the backstop at ninety (90) degree\n\nangles, extending toward the counter, shall be side walls of the\n\nsame height as the backstop, which side walls shall be constructed\n\nof steel of a thickness not less than U.S. standard sixteen-gauge\n\nsteel and shall be from six (6) to twenty-five (25) feet in length.\n\nIn the event the steel side walls do not extend to the counter, the\n\nremaining portion of the side walls shall be so constructed as to\n\nprevent any person from getting into the line of fire.\n\n(c) The inside edge of the counter from which the shooting\n\ntakes place shall be placed not less than twenty-five (25) feet from\n\nthe backstop or any metal target.\n\n(d) All targets shall be placed not less than twelve (12)\n\ninches from the ends of the backstop, and shall be not less than\n\ntwenty-four (24) inches from the top and not less than twelve (12)\n\ninches from the bottom of the backstop.\n\n(B) Closed shooting galleries constructed after the effective\n\ndate of this act shall be lawful of any size, provided that closed\n\nshooting galleries shall be constructed so that they at least\n\nconform to the minimum requirements of open air shooting galleries.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"caf98d440e5cc534b7252c7edb1823607b7c49b618441a7e4fcc7b2b09ade8e0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-7002","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
