Stat. tit. 63, § 63-951","heading":"Transporting of bodies for autopsy or scientific tests","body":"The Chief Medical Examiner shall maintain a contract transport\n\nservice authorized to transport bodies of deceased persons of whose\n\ndeath he or she is officially informed to an appropriate place for\n\nautopsy or for the performance of scientific tests; provided that,\n\nafter the autopsy shall have been performed or such tests made, the\n\nbodies of such deceased persons shall be returned to the county from\n\nwhich they were brought, or, when so authorized by the district\n\nattorney of the county and upon request of the nearest relative of\n\nthe deceased or other person who may be responsible for burial, the\n\nbody may be transported to some place other than the county.
