The Commissioners of the Land Office shall dispose of, sell\n\nand convey, subject to the limitations, exceptions, conditions,\n\nrules, regulations and instructions, provided by law, except where\n\nthe land is embraced in any reservation specifically reserved from\n\nsale for any special purpose, all the following enumerated and\n\ndescribed school and public lands of this state:\n\n1. All lands owned by this state, reserved, granted, and taken\n\nin lieu of sections numbered sixteen, thirty-six, thirteen and\n\nthirty-three and known as indemnity lands. When the lands as\n\ndescribed in this paragraph or any part of the lands are sold and\n\nconveyed, the proceeds derived therefrom shall be prorated among the\n\nseveral funds as their interest may appear, and used as provided by\n\nlaw;\n\n2. All lands embraced in sections numbered thirty-three in that\n\npart of the state formerly known as Oklahoma Territory, and granted\n\nto the state for charitable and penal institutions and public\n\nbuildings. All the money derived from the sale of any or all of the\n\nlands described in this paragraph shall be apportioned and disposed\n\nof as may be provided by law; and\n\n3. All lands granted to this state by the United States under\n\nand by virtue of Section 12 of the Enabling Act for the following\n\npurposes, namely:\n\na. for the benefit of the Oklahoma University, two\n\nhundred fifty thousand (250,000) acres,\n\nb. for the benefit of Oklahoma State University, two\n\nhundred fifty thousand (250,000) acres,\n\nc. for the benefit of the University Preparatory School,\n\none hundred fifty thousand (150,000) acres,\n\nd. for the benefit of Langston University, one hundred\n\nthousand (100,000) acres, and\n\ne. for the benefit of the normal schools now established\n\nor which may be established, three hundred thousand\n\n(300,000) acres. All money derived from the sale of\n\nany of the lands described in this paragraph shall be\n\ninvested for the state in trust, and interest thereon\n\nshall be used exclusively and as above apportioned in\n\nthe support and maintenance of the schools.\n\nB. If any tract, part or parcel of any of the land enumerated\n\nand described in this section, was or shall be returned to the\n\nCommissioners of the Land Office by a board of appraisers, including\n\nthose tracts of land embraced in sections numbered thirteen, sixteen\n\nand thirty-six, and otherwise herein reserved from sale, that are\n\nnow platted and occupied and leased directly from the State of\n\nOklahoma for townsite purposes, as being more valuable for townsite\n\nthan for agricultural purposes, then the tract, part or parcel of\n\nthe land shall be reserved by the Commissioners of the Land Office\n\nfrom sale and disposed of subject to the conditions of this title.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 7144.
