Stat. tit. 65, § 65-152","heading":"Policy and purpose","body":"The purpose of this act is to foster and promote the\n\nestablishment, maintenance and operation of city-county library\n\nsystems in order to give all of the citizens of the counties\n\naffected hereby equal access to comprehensive library collections.\n\nIt is the policy of the state to encourage the formation of such\n\ncooperative library systems to the end of avoiding unnecessary\n\nduplication in the maintenance and operation of public libraries and\n\nto stimulate the use of books and other library materials.\n\nIn order to make adequate library services available to the\n\nresidents of the more densely populated counties of this state, to\n\nprovide for the most efficient development of library facilities\n\nwithin such counties and to provide for each of such counties a\n\ncity-county library system, there is hereby created in each of such\n\ncounties which avails itself of the provisions of this act a city-\n\ncounty library commission, with the powers and duties set out in\n\nthis act.","path":["OK Code","Title 65"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os65.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f76b40cc2ad413d40fe54eb90ca39216b8c2dd102d090962bf9c9f51d55764d0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-65-65-151","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-65-65-153"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
