Stat. tit. 65, § 65-3-104","heading":"Duties of Director","body":"The Director shall be the administrative, executive, directing\n\nand supervising official of the Department under the supervision of\n\nand in accordance with policies established by the Board. He shall:\n\n(a) Approve all requisitions and claims;\n\n(b) Prepare budgets;\n\n(c) Prepare the staff organization and position classification\n\nwith the approval of the Board;\n\n(d) Employ or terminate employment of all personnel as provided\n\nby 74 O.S.1961, Sections 801 - 839, as amended; and\n\n(e) Make all reports, maintain all records and execute all\n\ninstruments required by law or regulation and perform all duties\n\nnecessary to discharge the functions of the Department.\n\nThe Director shall be accountable and responsible to all proper\n\nstate and federal officials for the activities of the Department.\n\nHe shall be the representative of the state in all matters\n\npertaining to the duties and services of the Department, or any\n\nother library, archival, public documents, reference, research,\n\nrecords, information and information processing functions, including\n\nall allied or related services, of the state government, or in which\n\nthe state may participate; provided that he may designate a staff\n\nmember of the Department to act as his agent under such conditions\n\nas he may prescribe.
