Stat. tit. 65, § 65-3-118","heading":"Definitions","body":"\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n1. \"Property corner\" means a geographic point on the surface of\n\nthe earth, and is on, a part of, and controls a property line;\n\n2. \"Property controlling corner\" means a public land survey\n\ncorner, or any property corner, which does not lie on a property\n\nline of the property in question, but which controls the location of\n\none or more of the property corners of the property in question;\n\n3. \"Public land survey corner\" means any corner actually\n\nestablished and monumented in an original survey or resurvey used as\n\na basis of legal description for issuing a patent for the land to a\n\nprivate person from the United States government;\n\n4. \"Accessory to a corner\" means any exclusively identifiable\n\nphysical object whose spatial relationship to the corner is\n\nrecorded. Accessories may be bearing trees, bearing objects,\n\nmonuments, reference monuments, line trees, pits, mounds, charcoal-\n\nfilled bottles, steel or wooden stakes, or other objects;\n\n5. \"Monument\" means a physical structure that occupies the\n\nexact position of a corner;\n\n6. \"Reference monument\" means a special monument that does not\n\noccupy the same geographical position as the corner itself, but\n\nwhose spatial relationship to the corner is recorded, and which\n\nserves to witness the corner;\n\n7. \"Surveyor\" means any person who is authorized by the laws of\n\nthis state to practice land surveying;\n\n8. \"Board\" means the State Board of Registration for\n\nProfessional Engineers and Land Surveyors; and\n\n9. \"Division\" means the Office of Archives and Records of the\n\nOklahoma Department of Libraries.","path":["OK Code","Title 65"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os65.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"aa0bd26824a7acbecd7f8397fa488435c7be75a494de48dbdc912bb6eb896313","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-65-65-3-117","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-65-65-3-119"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
