Stat. tit. 66, § 66-125b","heading":"Warning signs","body":"Whenever said barricading device shall be constructed or\n\ninstalled and maintained and operated, the public authorities having\n\njurisdiction and control over the highway or street at such point\n\nshall erect and maintain a reflector warning sign with appropriate\n\nwords thereon. If said barricading device is located at a railroad\n\ncrossing, said warning shall be installed and maintained not less\n\nthan four hundred (400) feet from the crossing, when said crossing\n\nis located on highways or streets where vehicular traffic is\n\npermitted to travel at speeds in excess of thirty (30) miles per\n\nhour; and not less than two hundred (200) feet from the crossing,\n\nwhen said crossing is located on highways or streets where vehicular\n\ntraffic is permitted to travel at speeds not in excess of thirty\n\n(30) miles per hour. It shall be the duty of the driver of any\n\nvehicle, on approaching such warning sign, to place his vehicle\n\nunder such control as to be able to bring such vehicle to a complete\n\nstop at a distance of not less than seventy-five (75) feet in\n\nadvance of the crossing. The colliding of a vehicle with the\n\nbarricading device at a crossing shall be prima facie evidence that\n\nthe driver thereof did not comply with the provisions of this act,\n\nand such driver shall be deemed a reckless driver, and be subjected\n\nto the penalties provided for reckless driving under the motor\n\nvehicle laws of this state, and shall be liable for any damage done\n\nto such barricading device on account of such collision.","path":["OK Code","Title 66"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os66.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"05f3c6a2218a103cd794c3d46423fac950f728b3b495d1bbeaf25eae4cce76da","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-66-66-125a","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-66-66-125c"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
