It shall be the duty of every railroad company or\n\ncorporation doing business, or operating a line of railroad, within\n\nthis state, to construct a crossing across that portion of its\n\ntrack, roadbed or right-of-way over which any public highway may\n\nrun, and maintain the same unobstructed, in a good condition for the\n\nuse of the public, and to build and maintain in good condition all\n\nbridges and culverts that may be necessary on its right-of-way at\n\nsuch crossing.\n\nB. Any railroad company or corporation that fails to construct\n\nand maintain said crossing in accordance with the recommendations\n\nset forth in the United States Department of Transportation\n\nRailroad-Highway Grade Crossing Handbook, for thirty (30) days after\n\nwritten notice by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to the agent\n\nor employee of any railroad company or corporation in the county\n\nwhere such work or repairs are needed, shall be subject to a\n\ncontempt proceeding before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 1432.
