Stat. tit. 66, § 66-62","heading":"Changing line or grade","body":"Whenever any railroad corporation shall find it necessary, for\n\nthe purpose of avoiding annoyance to public travel, or dangerous or\n\ndifficult curves or grades, or unsafe or unsubstantial grounds or\n\nfoundations, or for other reasonable causes, to change the grade or\n\nlocation of any portion of its road, such railroad corporation shall\n\nbe and is hereby authorized to make such changes of grade and\n\nlocation, not departing from its general route. And for the purpose\n\nof making any such change in the location and grades of any such\n\nroads as aforesaid, such corporation shall have all the rights,\n\npowers and privileges to enter upon and appropriate such real\n\nproperty, and make surveys necessary to effect such changes and\n\ngrades, upon the same terms, and subject to the same obligations,\n\nrules and regulations as are prescribed by law; and shall also be\n\nliable in damages, when any may have been caused by such change to\n\nthe owner of real property upon which such road was heretofore\n\nconstructed, to be ascertained and paid, or deposited as herein\n\nprovided; but no damages shall be allowed unless claimed within\n\nninety (90) days after actual notice in writing of such intended\n\nchange shall be given to such owner residing on the premises, or, if\n\nnonresident, notice by such publication in some newspaper in general\n\ncirculation, as the district judge may order.","path":["OK Code","Title 66"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os66.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"92c71bc73222c0f0101220b0e26c185230c22a5ef5c1485ea7dd5af3a9d408d2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-66-66-61","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-66-66-63"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
