Stat. tit. 67, § 67-203","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Records Management Act, Section 201 et seq. of\n\nthis title:\n\n(a) \"Record\" means document, book, paper, photograph,\n\nmicrofilm, computer tape, disk, record, sound recording, film\n\nrecording, video record or other material, regardless of physical\n\nform or characteristics, made or received pursuant to law or\n\nordinance or in connection with the transaction of official\n\nbusiness, the expenditure of public funds, or the administration of\n\npublic property. Library and museum material made or acquired and\n\npreserved solely for reference or exhibition purposes and stocks of\n\npublications are not included within the definition of records as\n\nused in this act.\n\n(b) \"State record\" means:\n\n(1) A record of a department, office, commission, board,\n\nauthority or other agency, however designated, of the state\n\ngovernment.\n\n(2) A record of the State Legislature.\n\n(3) A record of the Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal\n\nAppeals or any other court of record, whether of statewide or local\n\njurisdiction.\n\n(4) Any other record designated or treated as a state record\n\nunder state law.\n\n(c) \"Local record\" means a record of a county, city, town,\n\nvillage, township, district, authority or any public corporation or\n\npolitical entity whether organized and existing under charter or\n\nunder general law unless the record is designated or treated as a\n\nstate record under state law.\n\n(d) \"Agency\" means any department, office, commission, board,\n\nauthority or other unit, however designated, of the state\n\ngovernment.\n\n(e) \"Essential record\" means a state or local record necessary\n\nto the operation of government during an emergency created by a\n\ndisaster, or necessary to protect the rights and interests of\n\npersons or to establish and affirm powers and duties of governments\n\nin the resumption of operations after a disaster.\n\n(f) \"Disaster\" means any occurrence of fire, flood, storm,\n\nearthquake, tornado, explosion, epidemic, riot, sabotage, or other\n\ncondition of extreme peril resulting in substantial damage or injury\n\nto persons or property within this state, whether such occurrence is\n\ncaused by an act of nature or by persons, including an enemy of the\n\nUnited States.\n\n(g) \"Preservation duplicate\" means a copy of an essential\n\nrecord used for preservation purposes pursuant to the Records\n\nManagement Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 67"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os67.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6950b7830853885f62c2732d16f7cb107eb11686f87e50dfe8847db319bd42f7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-67-67-202","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-67-67-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
