Stat. tit. 67, § 67-91","heading":"Adoption of system of recording - Equipment, supplies and","body":"operators - Contracts for recording work.\n\nThe board of county commissioners of any county in this state\n\nmay by resolution adopt the system of photographic recording for any\n\nor all offices of the respective counties where instruments are\n\nfiled which are required to be recorded in books to be kept for that\n\npurpose. Said board of county commissioners in such counties where\n\nsuch system of recording is adopted may purchase such machines,\n\nequipment, and supplies as may be necessary and proper to do said\n\nwork and also employ a competent operator or operators to operate\n\nsaid machines, the salary of such operator or operators to be fixed\n\nby the board of county commissioners in such amount as they shall\n\ndeem advisable. In lieu of the purchase of said machines,\n\nequipment, and supplies by the county, the board of county\n\ncommissioners may, if they deem it advisable, contract with some\n\nsuitable person or persons, firm, or corporation having proper\n\nmachines and equipment therefor to do all recording work required to\n\nbe done in any office in their respective counties and fix the\n\ncompensation therefor. No contract shall be made wherein the county\n\nshall be required to pay for such work a greater price than sixty\n\npercent (60%) of the total fees charged for such recording, as fixed\n\nby law at the time said contract is entered into.
