Stat. tit. 68, § 68-102.3","heading":"Additional duties and compensation for commissioners","body":"In addition to their other duties, the members of the Oklahoma\n\nTax Commission shall make a continuous study of the critical\n\nnational energy crisis to determine its impact on the tax revenues\n\nof Oklahoma, particularly the revenues derived from the gross\n\nproduction taxes and gasoline and other motor fuel taxes and also to\n\ndetermine and project the degree of the consequent erosion of the\n\npresent tax structure of the state which will be caused by the\n\ngradual change from the use of oil and natural gas as a basic fuel\n\nfor energy. The Commission shall make periodic appraisals\n\nconcerning the several taxes directly related to the fuels presently\n\nused by motor vehicles and other modes of travel and for heating and\n\ncooling, as well as the tax paid by those engaged in the business of\n\nproducing oil and gas, as the use of substitute types of fuels\n\nevolve which undoubtedly will result in substantial changes in the\n\ntypes and size of vehicles used in the business activities of many\n\ntaxpayers.\n\nThe Commission shall also develop such econometric models as are\n\ndeemed necessary, compile data and other information as to the\n\npossible rate of decline in tax revenue and report to the Governor,\n\nSpeaker of the House of Representatives and President Pro Tempore of\n\nthe Senate by the second Tuesday of every year, to insure the\n\navailability of revenue to properly operate and carry on the\n\nfunctions of state and local government.\n\nFor the performance of such additional duties, the members of\n\nsaid Commission not receiving the maximum salary provided in Section\n\n102.1 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes shall be compensated as\n\nfollows:\n\nThe Chairman of said Commission shall receive Eleven Thousand\n\nFive Hundred Dollars ($11,500.00) per annum and the Vice Chairman\n\nand Secretary-Member of said Commission shall each receive Fifteen\n\nThousand Five Hundred Dollars ($15,500.00) per annum, payable\n\nmonthly.
