Stat. tit. 68, § 68-1622","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in Section 1621 et seq. of this title:\n\n1. \"Fireworks\" means any composition or device for the purpose\n\nof producing a visible or an audible effect by combustion,\n\nexplosion, deflagration or detonation, and which are further\n\ndescribed as Consumer Fireworks 1.4G, Display Fireworks 1.3G,\n\nArticles, Pyrotechnic 1.4G or 1.4S as defined by the United States\n\nDepartment of Transportation (DOT) Title 49, CFR. The term\n\n\"consumer fireworks\" shall not include toy cap pistols and caps,\n\nblank cartridges, railroad flares and model rockets or any novelty.\n\nThis provision shall not impose labeling requirements for any\n\nfireworks or novelties other than those required under federal law;\n\n2. \"Consumer Fireworks\" means any devices suitable for use by\n\nthe public that conform with the requirements of the United States\n\nConsumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) and are designed\n\nprimarily to produce visible effects by combustion, and some small\n\ndevices designed to produce an audible effect;\n\n3. \"Display Fireworks\" means fireworks devices that are\n\nprimarily intended for commercial displays which are designed to\n\nproduce visible and/or audible effects by combustion, deflagration\n\nor detonation. Display Fireworks include, but are not limited to,\n\nsalutes containing more than two grains (130mg) of explosive\n\ncomposition, aerial shells containing more than forty (40) grams of\n\npyrotechnic compositions and other exhibition display items that\n\nexceed the limits for Consumer Fireworks according to the Department\n\nof Transportation (DOT);\n\n4. \"Manufacturer\" means any person engaged in the making or\n\nconstructing of fireworks;\n\n5. \"Novelty\" means a device containing small amounts of\n\npyrotechnic and/or explosive composition. Such devices produce\n\nlimited visible or audible effects. These items must be approved by\n\nthe United States Department of Transportation (DOT) or have been\n\nderegulated by DOT;\n\n6. \"Distributor\" means any person who sells fireworks and\n\nnovelties to other distributors, wholesalers or retailers for resale\n\nor provides them as part of a pyrotechnic display service in the\n\nState of Oklahoma;\n\n7. \"Wholesaler\" means any person who purchases fireworks and\n\nnovelties for resale only to retailers and consumers;\n\n8. \"Retailer\" means any person who purchases fireworks and\n\nnovelties for resale to consumers only; and\n\n9. \"Person\" means any corporation, association, partnership or\n\none or more individuals.","path":["OK Code","Title 68"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os68.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6d6ba2d90041be04f4a82ae16044197d04feb2c8cff36aae4b3447bfa908c6c3","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-1621","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-1623"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
