Stat. tit. 68, § 68-1629","heading":"Public displays","body":"\n\nNothing in this act shall be construed as applying to shipping,\n\nsale, possession or use of display fireworks when displayed by\n\nholders of a permit for a public display to be conducted in\n\naccordance with the rules and regulations of the State Fire Marshal\n\nCommission.\n\nApplications for permits for display fireworks must be submitted\n\nin writing prior to the date of display to the Authority Having\n\nJurisdiction (AHJ) as defined by the NFPA 1123 where the display is\n\nto occur. If the display is in an area outside the jurisdiction of\n\na city or town, application for permit shall be submitted in writing\n\nto the State Fire Marshal's Office ten (10) days prior to the date\n\nof the display. Every display shall be under the direction of a\n\ncompetent, responsible operator of legal age and be conducted under\n\nthe code of regulations as adopted by the State Fire Marshal\n\nCommission. The person or organization making application for\n\npermit must submit to the authority having jurisdiction evidence of\n\na general liability insurance policy in an amount of not less than\n\nOne Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) or the amount set forth by the\n\nlocal governing authority. Before a permit is granted, a local fire\n\ninspector or an agent of the State Fire Marshal shall inspect and\n\napprove or reject the site of the display.
