Stat. tit. 68, § 68-2817.2","heading":"Buffer strips – Uniform certified document – Duties of","body":"Conservation Commission.\n\nA. For purposes of this section, the term “buffer strip” shall\n\ninclude any of the following approved Natural Resources Conservation\n\nService (NRCS) practices which meet the standards and specifications\n\nof the NRCS:\n\n1. Alley cropping;\n\n2. Filter strip;\n\n3. Field border;\n\n4. Contour buffer strips;\n\n5. Grassed waterway;\n\n6. Riparian forest buffer; or\n\n7. Riparian herbaceous cover.\n\nB. In order to qualify under this section, the landowner must\n\nbe participating in an Oklahoma Conservation Commission state cost-\n\nshare program or be participating in federal conservation cost share\n\nprograms through the United States Department of Agriculture.\n\nEligibility for land to be considered under this section shall be\n\nbased on the Natural Resources Conservation Service Buffer Strip\n\nStandards and Specifications and eligibility for state buffer\n\nprograms shall be based on the requirements of the local\n\nconservation district.\n\nC. For purposes of valuation and assessment as provided in\n\nSection 2817 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes, a buffer strip\n\nshall be valued as a separate parcel of property.\n\nD. 1. The conservation district in which the land is located\n\nshall assist the taxpayer in completing a uniform certified document\n\nas prescribed by the Oklahoma Tax Commission in cooperation with the\n\nConservation Commission that certifies:\n\na. the property meets the requirements established under\n\nthis section for buffer strips, and\n\nb. the acreage or square footage of property which\n\nqualifies for assessment as a buffer strip.\n\n2. The document shall be filed by the applicant with the county\n\nassessor of the county in which the land is located by March 15.\n\nApproved applications shall be filed by the county assessor with the\n\nTax Commission.\n\nE. Nothing in this section shall be construed to require any\n\ntaxpayer to have buffer strips.\n\nF. The Oklahoma Conservation Commission, in consultation with\n\nthe Natural Resources Conservation Service, shall provide a report\n\nconcerning the implementation of this program to the Oklahoma\n\nLegislature by March 1, 2002.\n\nG. The Oklahoma Conservation Commission shall be responsible\n\nfor the administration of any state programs for assessing,\n\nmonitoring, studying and restoring buffer strips.
