Whenever a legal subdivision of land, or any lot or\n\nsubdivision, is owned by two or more persons in severalty and the\n\ndescription of one or more parts or parcels thereof cannot, in the\n\njudgment of the county assessor, be made sufficiently certain and\n\naccurate for the purpose of assessment and taxation, without noting\n\nthe metes and bounds of the same, he shall make his report thereof\n\nto the board of county commissioners of his county, setting forth\n\nthe description of the legal subdivision, with his request that the\n\nsame be surveyed and platted in conformity with this section.\n\nB. When so requested the board of county commissioners shall\n\ncause a survey and plat to be made of such tract of land by a\n\ncompetent person selected by the board of county commissioners,\n\nwhich plat shall describe said tract and any other subdivisions of\n\nthe smallest legal subdivision of which the same is a part,\n\nconforming as nearly as possible to the present location of the\n\nseparate lots, parcels, subdivisions, highways and easements as\n\nshown by the records of the county clerk and county assessor,\n\nnumbering them by progressive numbers, setting forth the courses and\n\ndistances, the number of acres, and such other memoranda as is\n\nnecessary; and description of such lots and subdivisions according\n\nto number and designation thereon as shown by said plat shall be\n\ndeemed a sufficient description for all purposes, inclusive of\n\ntransfer, by reference thereto.\n\nC. Said plat shall be certified to by the person making the\n\nsurvey as correct and when so certified shall be submitted to the\n\nboard of county commissioners for approval; and when endorsed with\n\nthe approval of the board it shall be signed and acknowledged by the\n\nchairman thereof and filed for record with the county clerk and\n\nshall be known as commissioners' plat of the tract or subdivision\n\ntherein designated, and when so executed and filed shall have the\n\nsame effect as if executed, acknowledged, and filed by the owners\n\nthereof.\n\nD. Whenever each of the legal subdivisions comprising an entire\n\nquarter section of land is so owned by two or more persons in\n\nseveralty, said entire quarter section may be ordered surveyed and\n\nplatted in one plat as provided by the preceding provisions of this\n\nsection.\n\nE.
