All elected county officials, peace officers and law\n\nenforcement organizations in the State of Oklahoma shall be\n\npermitted to request to a county assessor that personal information\n\nregarding elected county officials, peace officers or undercover or\n\ncovert law enforcement officers not be made publicly available on\n\nthe Internet, but instead kept in a secure location at the office of\n\nthe county assessor where it may be made available to authorized\n\npersons pursuant to law. The program manager of the Oklahoma\n\nAttorney General's Address Confidentiality Program, administered\n\nunder Section 60.14 of Title 22 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall be\n\npermitted to request to a county assessor that personal information\n\nregarding a certified Address Confidentiality Program participant,\n\nupon the participant's proof of certification, not be made publicly\n\navailable on the Internet, but instead kept in a secure location at\n\nthe office of the county assessor where it may be made available to\n\nauthorized persons pursuant to law.\n\nB. Any elected county official, peace officer, law enforcement\n\nofficial on behalf of an undercover or covert officer, or Address\n\nConfidentiality Program participant who wishes to have the personal\n\ninformation of the elected county official, peace officer,\n\nundercover or covert officer, or Address Confidentiality Program\n\nparticipant that is contained in the records of a county assessor be\n\nkept confidential must obtain an order of a court that requires the\n\ncounty assessor to maintain the personal information of the person\n\nor entity in a confidential manner. Such an order must be based on\n\na sworn affidavit by the elected county official, peace officer, law\n\nenforcement official, or current Address Confidentiality Program\n\nparticipant which affidavit:\n\n1. States that the individual whose information is to be kept\n\nconfidential is:\n\na. an elected county official,\n\nb. a peace officer,\n\nc. an undercover or covert officer, or\n\nd. a current Address Confidentiality Program participant;\n\nand\n\n2. Sets forth sufficient justification for the request for\n\nconfidentiality.\n\nC. Upon receipt of such an order, a county assessor shall keep\n\nsuch information confidential and shall not disclose the\n\nconfidential information to anyone not specifically authorized by\n\nlaw to view the information, unless disclosure is specifically\n\nauthorized in writing by that person or the affiant. A county\n\nassessor shall not post such confidential information on the\n\nInternet.\n\nD. As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Elected county official\" means a person elected to a county\n\noffice;\n\n2. \"Peace officer\" shall have the same meaning as that term is\n\ndefined in Section 99 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n3. \"Program participant\" shall have the same meaning as that\n\nterm is defined in Section 60.14 of Title 22 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes; and\n\n4. \"Personal information\" means:\n\na. the home address of a person,\n\nb. the home address of the spouse, domestic partner or\n\nminor child of a person, and\n\nc. any telephone number or electronic mail address of a\n\nperson.","path":["OK Code","Title 68"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os68.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5538544e1e1ae29519bbe7a4b0e16a8605c7bf16f5591a4c36e6b7e7d532e776","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-2899","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-2899.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
